ABOUT JEFFREY LITMAN
New York City classical guitarist, Jeffrey Litman began his
career at the age of ten in his hometown of Minneapolis,
Minnesota. Jeffrey went on to study jazz and classical
guitar at Indiana University under the guidance of famed
jazz pedagogue, David Baker.
Upon completion of his Bachelor of Music degree, Jeffrey
studied with Twin Cities guitarist, Chris Kachian before
moving to New York to attend the Manhattan School of Music,
pursuing his Master of Music degree under the tutelage of
David Leisner In 2005 and 2006, Jeffrey studied with Sharon
Isbin at the Aspen Music Festival and School. He has also
performed in masterclasses by such luminaries as Manuel
Barruco, David Russell, Ernesto Bitetti, and jazz great,
John Scofield.
Jeffrey is currently active as a soloist, chamber musician,
and teacher. He maintains an ongoing collaboration with
soprano Samantha Malk and a faculty position at “Belle Arti”
Center for the Arts and the Bronx House School for
Performing Arts in New York City. Recent performances have
included solo and chamber recitals in New York, St. Paul,
Minneapolis, Aspen, and Indianapolis.
