PRIVATE LESSONS AND SPECIAL COURSES

“Belle Arti” Center for the Arts offers private lessons for piano, violin, cello, guitar, voice, woodwinds and music theory; semi-private classes on piano, violin, cello and guitar; group classes for piano, violin, cello, guitar and music theory; Musical Aurora® (for additional details, see our Description of Programs). We also offer courses of chamber music for the most advanced students. The academic year has two semesters, Fall and Spring, and a Summer session. At the end of each semester, the students perform in a recital. In addition, at the end of each Spring semester, all students from level 2 up are required to take a jury exam, giving them the opportunity to demonstrate their technical and musical achievements. The elementary grade and level 1 students will participate in a class exam, which will be part of the students’ lesson.

Our innovative curriculum follows methods that are used in the most famous music conservatories in Europe and the United States.

Therapeutic Piano Lesson

ALL AGES

Therapeutic piano lessons are piano lessons taught by a certified music therapist who has deep knowledge, understanding, and experience teaching piano to children with learning difficulty. Therapeutic piano lessons focus on a combination of piano lessons and therapeutic activities using the piano. The therapist focuses on improving the student’s musical skills while still working on non-musical skills such as, educational, cognitive, emotional, social and fine-motor skills. Therapeutic piano lessons require a middle-to-high level of functioning; children must understand what is being spoken, be able to follow simple hands-on instruction with prompts and cues, and be able to remain seated for an entire session. The teaching approach is customized to each student based on the student’s strengths, needs, and interests. We offer 30- and 45-minute individual lessons. (Click here for more information).
