Our staff includes teachers experienced working with students at all ages, levels, abilities and backgrounds.

Private Lessons - Instruments

One-on-one lessons for children and adults are available for all instruments listed above. The classes can be 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or 60 minutes in length, and meet once per week. A pay assessment class with the potential teacher is recommended to ensure the best fit for your child.

Group, Private, and Semi-Private Lessons

Most of the instruments are offered in group, private, and semi-private lessons. You may have questions about the value of each and the FAQs below will help you determine what is best for your child.

Group Lessons – Ages 2-5

We offer groups Musical Aurora® for 4-5 students, semi-private Musical Aurora® groups for 2-3 students, and private Musical Aurora® one-on-one classes. More information is available on our Programs page.

Group Lessons – Ages 4+

We offer semi-private piano for 2 students.

Group Lessons – Ages 7+

Music Theory Classes

Do you feel your child struggles to read music? Are they losing interest in music classes? The issue may lie in their music-reading ability.

Theory is the grammar of music and, therefore, the basis for music understanding. Instruction in music theory is required for all students taking private instruction in any instrument. For younger students, theory is part of private instrument instruction. For older students we recommend taking theory separately in a group setting.

The music theory class centers on reading and writing music notation, harmony training, ear training (sight–singing in solfege and dictation) and rhythm training.

The classes are available in a group setting (no more than 5 students) and as private instruction. In both cases, each class is 30 minutes and meets once per week.

Composition

As students progress in their understanding of music theory and begin to master an instrument, they may want to express themselves musically with original compositions. Our composition classes are an excellent way for children to understand music from the inside out and to express their own potential and unique talent.

“Max reads his student very well, and with great care.  His coaching skills as a teacher take into account the student's individuality."
